My Story

I was born in Cebu City, Philippines. I am a graduate of the University of San Carlos College of Nursing in Cebu City, Philippines. I have been a certified Nurse Practitioner since 2019 and certified in CAPA since 2013. I’ve been a nurse for 20 years in the US and five years in the Philippines. I work at MD Anderson Cancer Center as a Perianesthesia/ PACU Nurse and at Bee Busy Wellness Center West  Bellfort and Bissonette as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner specializing in Adult-Gerontology.

What do you love about the profession of nursing?

I can make a difference in the lives of others through the personal and professional relationships I can create with my patients and peers. As a nurse, I am being empowered while serving one of the most vulnerable groups in the community, and at the same time, I am allowed to empower others as I share my knowledge and skills in nursing with my colleagues.

Who has impacted you and why (professional or personal or both)?

My mother is instrumental in my goal to pursue this profession.  She epitomizes selflessness,  devotion, patience, and true dedication, which are the qualities I’ve emulated and carried on in my profession.

What makes you get up and do something every day?

My kids make me get up and do something every day. They give me a reason and a purpose to live every day.

Why do you belong to an association like the PNA NH?

Because I am committed to furthering my knowledge and growing in my field academically and socially, being involved in organizations such as the PNANH gives me that opportunity. Joining organizations allows me to be connected and stay connected with my nursing colleagues while opening doors for meeting people outside my profession. The PNANH does more than that, as it allows me to promote my culture as a Filipino through a wide array of activities that showcase our history, our traditions, and values, and most importantly, the uniqueness of a Filipino nurse that sets him/her apart from others.

What do you do for fun?

Travel, dance, shop, and play dress-up (I’m a little fashion blogger).

Where and what do you want to be in 3 years?

To be able to advance me professionally through higher education. Continue to be involved in the PNANH organization.

Anything that you want to share about yourself, family, pets, etc., that may surprise others?

My name is Jingle, but I wasn’t born on Christmas. My mom just loves the word jingle because it’s a happy name.  I love dancing. It’s my first passion. I’ve been dancing since I was three years old. I love dressing up. It’s a way to express my love for art. I love sharing fresh inspirations from my own simple style, which drove me to create a little fashion blog eight years ago. It’s called Ynsemble. It’s a fun way for me to express my passion and inspire others to look good and feel good about themselves.

What does being bold and unstoppable mean to you?

Being bold and unstoppable means being brave and confident in following your dreams. It is believing and trusting yourself that nothing is impossible and that you are more than capable of achieving anything that you set out to do.
