It is my great pleasure to welcome you to our BOLD and UNSTOPPABLE journey in the next two years of our term. On behalf of the 2022-2024 Executive Board, we want to thank you for joining us in one of the most memorable, successful, and first Nursing Excellence, Scholarship & Induction of the PNA North Houston Executive Board 2022-2024. The unprecedented event was held at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center on August 27, 2022, and was attended by friends, families, and community leaders, including Consul Gilbert Segarra of The Republic of the Philippines. ...

 

Thank you to the 2020-2022 Executive Board and our immediate past president Myrah Ubas. As your president-elect, I personally witnessed so much strength, grace, agility, and unbelievable love for God. Our PNA North Houston Pandemic President has inspired us, and we are in awe of your unwavering commitment. Thank you.

 

​The BOLD and UNSTOPPABLE mantra is supported by our logo, which contains the hummingbird and the magnolia flower. Here is the story behind it. (Excerpt from the speech) ...While it is very small, it is also very nimble, and more importantly, it is a hardworking creature. Think about it! At times a hummingbird must battle relatively strong headwinds in flight, and despite that, it somehow works its way around the problem and makes it through. A hummingbird visits more flowers daily than just about any bird in nature. I chose the Magnolia because it reminds me of the 1980s movie Steel Magnolias. The movie portrayed characters that persevered and endured through their personal storms. That endurance, hard work, nimbleness, and perseverance sums up the ATTITUDE that enabled us, is enabling us, and will enable us to get things done!

We are the authors of the next chapters in PNA NH's history! Our goals are fully aligned with the PNAA's national goals. These goals will set this association to a higher level by extending our reach, forging relationships and our influence, and redefining the nursing profession as we work together, rooted in our values and energized by our vision to achieve the transformation that our mission promises.  Finally, to add to why the hummingbird and the magnolia, the hummingbird defies the odds, and gets its just reward, the nectar! And the Magnolia may only be around for a short period, but its beautiful fragrant smell leaves a memory that lasts the whole year in the area's lifetime. We will make our lasting mark as we defy the obstacles and challenge the status quo as we nimbly move forward, persevere, and live up to our motto: Be BOLD and UNSTOPPABLE!!!  Would we want it any other way?
